Hello everyone! Anna-Karin here with a fun Halloween pop-up card.
I had lots of fun making this glittery pop-up card using the brand new Trick or Treat and Pumpkin, Cat, Crows & Web Thinlits dies, combined with Karen Burniston's 3-D Suitcase pop 'n cuts die. The Trick or Treat set contains four dies and the Pumpkin, Cat, Crows & Web set contains five different dies and they are all great. The papers are from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells line.
This Trick or Treat die with the spider web and the bat is fabulous and has such intricate details. I die cut it from cream cardstock, and the bat once more from black kraft-core cardstock. Since this die is so detailed, a tip is to place a sheet of wax paper between the die and your paper. You might also need to add a piece of paper as a shim. I wanted to make the web look like a real web so that you can see through it. The solution was to use the 3-D Suitcase insert, which was die cut from patterned paper. I carefully positioned a rectangular Framelits in the centre and die cut a window, which gave me a suitcase frame. The web was placed behind, coated with Glossy Accents and sprinkled with Rock Candy Distress Glitter.
I placed two crows on top of the suitcase and more on the background, as well as a branch tree, spiders die cut from kraft-core (the spider die comes with the Trick or Treat die). The web in the background was also coated with Rock Candy glitter.
In front of the suitcase I placed a sentiment, die cut from cream cardstock, inked black and covered with Spiced Marmalade Distress Glitter. Love the little cat die. And more spiders. I didn't originally have this many spiders on my card, but my son wanted some for him too and later he insisted that they all had to be glued to the card.
This is the front of the card. By die cutting the corner web from the Pumpkin, Cat, Crows & Web set four times, you can piece them together and make a circular spider web. I coated these with Rock Candy Glitter too, it is hard to see on the photo, but it adds a really nice shine to the card. More spiders, another cat and a crow. I really like the row of crows die, it can be used on lots of different projects, not only for Halloween.
Thank you for looking!!
