Hello, hello! Anna Wight here, sharing a Sizzix Tutorial: a fun matchbook notebook filled with happy campy critters, made especially for a summer-camping kiddo!
Let me show you how to put this little cutie together.
Use Matchbook Notebook to die cut a cover for your project, as well as insert paper pieces. For the cover of my project I chose double-sided printed paper, so the inside of the matchbook looks as cute as the inside. For the insert pages, I chose to die cut watercolor paper so I could later add stamped images and watercolor the images. Two different insert pages are provided on the die: one with a cut-out heart, and one with a cut-out bird. I chose to use only the cut-out heart inserts, but you could use both. Ignore the two buttons in this photo as I originally planned on using them, but later you will see that I decided to use two paper circles for the closure, which are also part of the matchbook notebook die.
Choose a variety of images from your stamp stash, and stamp on each insert page. I chose images of cute critters, hiking boot tracks, and even a happy marshmallow. Look for a variety of sentiments to use on your cards as well. I chose to stamp a unique sentiment and image on each insert, to make the stack of greetings special for each day of the week.
To assemble the matchbook, fold on the scorelines that are created when the paper is die cut.
Using a strong adhesive, adhere the tabs on the side of the matchbook in place.
Attach a piece of twine or string to the front of the matchbook using brads and the die cut circles. Wrapping the twine around the die cut circles creates a cute "office envelope" style of closure.
Color your stamped images. The insert pages I created were cut from watercolor paper. I stamped the images in a permanent ink and watercolored them with cheerful colors.
I created eight pages for my matchbook. Even though I used a heavy watercolor paper for my pages, there was still room in my matchbook for more pages! I was surprised just how many pages would fit!
Tuck your colored insert pages into the matchbook cover, and send it off with your favorite summer-camping kiddo!
Thanks so much for joining me today... and, I really do hope your day is awesome!
