Thankful For: An Early Sizzix Surprise!

We're thankful for many things here at Sizzix, but nothing makes us feel more grateful than our makers sharing  their crafting stories with us!

Tara Fowler shared her story with us earlier this year about getting her little sister, Shannon O'Malley, a Sizzix Big Shot Machine for an early birthday surprise. This is what Tara had to say about the experience! (And Shannon's sweet reaction as well!)

"She's on the Autism spectrum and really loves to make cards. I got her a few embossing folders, and right now, we are sharing dies." Tara Fowler said in a Facebook post. "I'm disabled and can't afford many dies either."

"We worked really hard to get her all the fun accessories she'd need. She LOVES it! It's easy for her to use too!"

"What a great day it was for ME! Yes, for her too, but for me, it made me feel great to be able to see that big smile on her face!"

Not only are we happy to hear such a heartwarming story, but our amazing makers showed their generosity as well. Many makers offered to send dies, craft supplies, and other materials for Shannon and Tara to use for making. We were overwhelmed with how kind our Sizzix community was!

We wish nothing but craftastic days for Tara and Shannon. We can't wait to see what they make!  If you have something you're Thankful For, please feel free to share it with us by tagging #sharewithsizzix on your posts. Don’t forget to visit our social media pages (InstagramFacebookTwitter and Pinterest) for more stories and inspiration.

It would be lovely if Sizzix could somehow collect folders and or money so we could send her some. Even if she set up a Post Office box or something. It would be great for all of us who know and love Sizzix products to be able to give this young woman some joy.

Now thats beyond awesome.....there are so many great ways to pass forward. Kids with needs camps have craft time, i send paper and fabric, etc i know i wont ever use with my friend each year,,,,,then “shoebox” time for kids in need at Christmas is here. Another friend has organized this and I iwll put in my shoeboxes at least a small craft project from local craft store for a child to make an ornament, along with other toys, etc.......and of course I will make a card to enclose to the family. Doesn’t take much to have an impact, whether family or just putting a smile on someone’s face....again this is a great story of a great gift from the heart, sister to sister.
