This year, Sizzix attended The Elevate Blog Conference 2015 in Newport Beach, CA at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina. If you happen to see a shadow in the welcome sign, that's me!
These darling signs were also there to greet us as we came in and hung above them were our name tags. The Elevate Blog Conference is all about meeting new people, bloggers and sponsors and the like, building relationships and getting inspired by one another's stories.
Tables were set up beautifully in the middle of the lawn at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina. Flowers, yes, geometric shapes, too. And also uplifting signs, like the My Happy Place you see here, decorated each table. They were all so lovely, we took pictures of every one!
Sneak peek! These were the samples we brought along with us of the project we were to demonstrate. And, that's the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus Machine! Isn't it so sleek and classy? This sweet and inspirational little card we made with the Victorian Frame by Brenda Walton. With a change of double-sided patterned paper and a vintage photo instead of a phrase, you could use this for a really gorgeous frame for home décor .
The lovely ladies that put on Elevate, Summer and Jen from the Elevate Everyday and many of their friends and family, made these really clever conversation starters from printables! It is a great way to break the ice for party goers with easy questions like these. You can make a fun game of it, too, if you change out the questions for really silly ones!
Here's a glance at the projects we had featured on the table. Oftentimes, we like to show new-to-Sizzix booth visitors and friends the wide array of projects that can be made using Sizzix dies, machines and products. At Elevate, we displayed the Where Women Cook collection inspired by Editor-in-Chief Jo Packham. The dies and embossing folders in this line are all about making your already delicious treats look absolutely adorable without much embellishing. If you're spending time cooking, baking, party planning, these dies make dressing it up so easy!
Nibbles! In case any conference-goers happened to get a bit peckish, a retro Snack Shop was set up with treats to tide them over between lunch and dinner. Jelly Beans, strawberries with blueberries, cheese and crackers, carrots with Ranch dip were just a few of the delicious options. Also, the ingredients were provided for a Dirty Diet Coke. If you haven't had one of these, you're missing out! They're absolutely tasty and refreshing. The ingredients are so simple: Diet Coke, one pump of Torani Coconut syrup, ice, a squirt or two of lime and a dash of cream. It's like paradise!
Here we have two stunning models, Jen Springer from Classy Cosmetics (amazing makeup artist) and Deidre Miller from Deidre Emme (fabulous fashion blogger) modeling the fruits of their crafting labor. We often hear that individuals are not 'crafty' or 'creative'. Tsk tsk! We say, no way, ma'am! You definitely are. We can guide you through easy to experienced level crafts with ease and they usually add their own bit of flair at the end. That's creativity!
I was so happy to take this photo! I thought only a couple of ladies would be willing to take a photo with their finished project, but every single one of them rushed to finish their projects and some cried, "Wait!" just so they could make it into the group photo. It was absolutely precious Oh oh, and, you see that lovely lady (well, they're all lovely) in the bottom left hand corner? That's Anna Salvatore, one of the Great Eight Friends. They did a really spectacular recap of Elevate, too!
Howdy, neighbor! This is our friend ModifyInk's booth. This product is SO cool. There are tons of designs already available that you can pick from the website. To modify them (fitting, no?) to fit your event, you can personally select the colors you want to use for all different parts of the design. We were give the extraordinary opportunity to try it for ourselves! Our creations were brought to Elevate and we got to see them for ourselves.
These are just a couple of the options that ModifyInk provides. Perfectly customizable prints to add a very special touch to your parties and events!
Have you heard of cents of style? Goodness! You will find the most fashionable styles there (runway fashionable) and for such amazing deals. This shirt was special-made for the event and it's all about reminding you that you are amazing. The wearer, the reader, the writer, everyone. The inspiration behind this darling t-shirt was to remind that inner negative nelly that you are, in fact, amazing and that you should tell yourself so every chance you get. Courtney Brown, founder and co-owner, shared her story, struggles and successes with the conference. She is truly amazing!
We were so interested to hear about and meet with Crio Brü, a sponsor of Elevate. First of all, this was their super sweet set-up that we all wanted to crawl into and feel immediately stylish in at one point or another. Secondly, Crio Brü, and this is the secondhand version, is basically cacao roasted and brewed like coffee. No calories, no sugar, no fat, dairy, sodium, cholesterol, I could go on! Basically, it's a superfood drink made from chocolate. Does that not sound magical? We're totally trying it out and simply cannot wait!
On top of sponsoring and demoing, Sizzix also wanted to provide a little treat to the conference-goers! These ridiculously delicious cookies from Black Market Bakery in Costa Mesa, CA fit so nice and snug inside the Mini Pizza Box from the Where Women Cook line. We tucked in our Affiliate cards (if you're a blogger and love Sizzix, check us out!) and tied the cute little boxes up with special Sizzix ribbon as after-dinner treats.
Thanks to Elevate from amazing spectacular Sizzix team! We had such a nice time and met so very many amazing, talented, fashionable, gorgeous, strong women.
