Hi everyone, it's Jess from Everyday Party Magazine. I am so excited to share these SIMPLE party decorations. My niece is turning 4 soon and I love working on girly parties! She is a strong willed little thing, and she needs to be a part of every detail of her parties.
Below are the supplies you will need for this project:
Other Materials Used:
- Card Stock
- Paper Clips
- Photo Paper
- Baker’s Twine
- Paper Straw
After I talked to my niece about her party, I pulled some card stock out of my stash, and got to work. Begin by placing the Multipurpose Platform in your machine. Use both tabs 1 and 2. Place a clear cutting pad on top of the platform. Add the bow thinlit from the Paper Clippables set on top of the cutting pad, blade side up. Add the paper, the second cutting pad, and roll it through your machine. My son loves to help with my Sizzix projects, so he actually cut all of the bows for me.
Once all the pieces were cut, we assembled the bows.
Fold the ends of the long piece into the middle so they touch each other.
Lay it on the medium size piece of paper (the bow tails) with the folds down. Take the smallest piece and wrap it over the other two pieces in the middle and secure with glue. I used hot glue. I also added the paper clip at this point, my son slid his paper clips through after the glue had dried. Save a few bows for cupcake toppers.
String Baker’s Twine through the paper clips with bows. Print up photos you want to display at the party, and slide into the paper clips. Hang on the wall with thumbtacks.
Hot glue one bow on a paper straw cut into thirds. Cut a bamboo skewer into quarters, and insert into a cupcake. Slide the paper straw with the bow over the skewer, and enjoy your adorable cupcake topper!
I hope I have inspired you to make adorable party decorations for your next party! My niece loves it all, “…except the colors, Aunt Bunny!” So, I guess we will make more in colors of her choice!
