Rose & Green Floral Robbing Peter to Pay Paul Quilt

Fabric Requirements:

Notes:

• Finished Size: 42 1/2" x 51"
• All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
• WOF = width of fabric

Piecing the Block:

1. Take a Block Center (of one color) and a 1/2 Football shape (of the second color). With right sides together, line up the inside curve of one piece with the outside curve of the other. Match the center notch, pin. Match the two outside edges and pin. You might want to place some extra pins along the rest of the curve to make it easier to ease the pieces together. Carefully sew the seam together making sure the pieces remain aligned along the outside edge. Press the seam towards the piece with the outside curve. Repeat three more times around the center to complete the block.
2. Make 15 blocks with rose floral centers and green floral around the outside and 15 blocks with green floral centers and rose floral around the outside.

Assembling the Top:

1. Using the quilt picture as a reference, arrange the blocks. There will be five blocks in each row and six rows make up the quilt.
2. Sew the blocks together into rows. Press.
3. Sew the rows together into the quilt top. Press.

Finishing:

1. Sew the two 1 1/2 yd pieces of the backing fabric together along the selvedge edge to make the backing.
2. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
3. Sew the binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold the binding in half, lengthwise, with wrong sides together and press.
4. Sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
