I Think I Can Wall Hanging

Fabric Requirements:

Notes:

• Finished Size: 16 1/2" x 34"
• All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
• Fat 1/8 = approximately 9" x 22"
• * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.
• Be sure to keep the paper side up when die-cutting the letters.

Assembling the Project:

1. Place the Train Engine, Train Cars and Letters on the background. Heat fuse in place with an iron. Stitch around the shapes as desired.
2. Sew three black 2 1/2" Squares to three white 2 1/2" Squares, alternating colors, to form the left border. Repeat to form the right border. Sew the borders to the sides of the background.
3. Sew nine black 2 1/2" Squares to eight white 2 1/2" Squares, alternating colors, to form the bottom border. Sew to the background.
4. Sew nine white 2 1/2" Squares to eight black 2 1/2" Squares, alternating colors, to form the top border. Sew to the background.

Finishing:

1. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
2. Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together, lengthwise, and press.
3. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
