Notes:
- Finished Size: 52" x 52"
- All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
- WOF = width of fabric
Piecing the Quilt:
- Piece one block at a time. See diagram for each block.
- Sew horizontal rows together using row 1 as the sashing row. Sew a red 2 1/2" Square to a cream 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" Rectangle repeat twice. Add a final red 2 1/2" Square to complete the first row. Repeat to create rows 3, 5, and 7.
- For rows 2, 4, and 6, sew a cream 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" strip to the left side of a block. Repeat twice. Then sew a final rectangle on the right side of the last block in the row.
- Now sew rows together in order of number.
- Measure quilt top from top to bottom. This is the measurement for each side border. Cut 4 1/2" Strip to this size and sew on each side of the quilt top. You will have to sew 2 Strips together to make the Strip long enough.
- Measure the quilt top from side to side. This is the measurement for the top and bottom borders. Cut the remaining 4 1/2" Strip to this size. You will have to sew 2 Strips together to make the borders big enough for this length.

Finishing:
- Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
- Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together, lengthwise, and press.
- With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
