Desert Sunset Quilt

Fabric Requirements:

Notes:

• Finished Size: 40" x 55"
• All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
• WOF = width of fabric

Piecing the Quilt:

1. Sew the 19 1/2" teal Strip to the long side of the pink center Strip. Repeat on the other side. Sew the shorter teal Strips to the shorter sides of the pink center Strip. This becomes your center rectangle.
2. Add the Orange, Purple and Gray Strips in the same manner, sewing the longer Strips on opposite sides of the center rectangle and then shorter Strips to the top and bottom of the center rectangle.

Finishing:

1. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine, as desired.
2. Sew binding strips together to form one long strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise and press.
3. With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
