Fabric Requirements:

10" x 10" Orange print Cut (1) 10" Square
9" x 9" Turquoise batik Cut (1) Flower Wheel*
1/8 yd Light turquoise batik Cut (2) 1 1/2" wide Strips x 10"
Cut (2) 1 1/2" wide Strips x 12"
9" x 9" Lightweight fusible adhesive
1 16" x 16" Store-bought tote bag


  • Finished Size: 16" x 16"
  • All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
  • * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shape.

Assembling the Project:

  1. Heat fuse the Flower Wheel to center of the 10" Square.
  2. Sew the 1 1/2" x 10" strips to the sides of the 10" Square.
  3. Sew the 1 1/2" x 12" strips to the top and bottom of the 10" Square.
  4. Straight stitch along the edge of the Flower Wheel.
  5. Sew the Square to the tote bag, turning under the seam of the border for a clean edge.
