Notes:
- Finished Size: 14" x 18"
- All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
- WOF = width of fabric
Assembling the Pillow Top:
- Alternate the black print 1 1/2" Squares and the bottle cap print 1 1/2" Squares together to make four rows of 12 Squares across as shown in photo. Sew blocks together to form rows, then sew rows together.
- Sew two map print 2 1/2" Squares to two black print 2 1/2" Squares as shown in photo. Sew four red newspaper print 3 1/2" Half-Square Triangles to the black and map print block as shown in photo.
- Repeat step 2 to make a second block.
- Place one black print 2 1/2" Half-Square Triangle with one clock print 2 1/2" Half-Square Triangle right sides together and sew along the diagonal seam. Repeat to make 12 total Half-Square Triangle blocks.
- Sew the black and clock print Half-Square Triangle blocks in a chevron pattern as shown in photo.
- Sew one map print 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" rectangle to the chevron block as shown in photo.
- Sew the black and bottle cap print section to one map print 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" rectangle.
- Sew the red newspaper print block to the edge of the black and bottle cap print section as shown in photo.
- Sew the black and clock print chevron section to the second red newspaper print block as shown in photo.
- Sew sections together as shown in photo.
- Sew one 2 1/2" x 18 1/2" rectangle to the bottom.
- Layer the batting and pillow top.
- Topstitch through the paper leather sheets Circles to hold in place.
Making the Piping:
- Stitch the 1 1/2" ends together of the black plaid Strips.
- Place the piping down the middle of the Strip and fold over, lining up the edges.
- With a zipper foot, baste close to the cording.
Finishing:
- Baste stitch the piping along the perimeter of the pillow front.
- Layer the pillow top and pillow back, right sides together. Pin and sew with 1/2" seam allowance, leaving an opening approximately 6" long to stuff.
- Clip excess fabric in the corners on the diagonal. Turn right side out, stuff the pillow to desired loft and whipstitch closed.
