Notes:
- Finished Size: 22" x 22"
- All seam allowances are 1/4" unless noted.
- Fat 1/8 = approximately 9" x 22"
- Fat 1/4 = approximately 18" x 22"
Piecing the Quilt:
- Sew one white Right Triangle to either side of a light blue Isosceles Triangle to make a triangle-in-a-square unit (Diagram 1). Make 36 triangle-in-a-square units.
- Sew one white Right Triangle to one dark blue Right Triangle to make a rectangle unit (Diagram 2). Make 16 rectangle units.
- Sew two white Right Triangles together to make a rectangle unit (Diagram 3). Make 16 rectangle units.
- Sew together the rectangle units created in steps 2 and 3 (Diagram 4). Make 16 square units.
- Sew one white 2 1/2" Half-Square Triangle to one dark 2 1/2" blue Half-Square Triangle (Diagram 5). Make 20 square units.
- Sew one white and three dark blue 1 1/2" H x 2 1/2" W quarter-square triangles together (Diagram 6). Make 12 square units.
- Arrange the units created in previous steps as shown in Diagram 7. Sew across in rows first. Then sew the rows together.
- Arrange 2 1/2" Squares, the quarter-square triangles units and 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Rectangles as shown in Diagram 8. Sew the units together. Make two rows.
- Sew the Diagram 8 rows to the top and bottom of the quilt top.
- Arrange 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Rectangles and quarter-square triangle units as shown in Diagram 9. Sew the units together. Make two rows.
- Sew Diagram 9 rows to either side of the quilt top.
Finishing:
- Layer the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt by hand or machine as desired.
- Sew binding Strips together to form one long Strip. Fold wrong sides together lengthwise, and press.
- With a 1/4" seam, sew the raw edges of the binding to the edges of the right side of the quilt. Turn the folded edge of the binding to the back side of the quilt, and stitch in place by hand, mitering the corners.
