Notes:
- Finished Size: 3 1/2" x 5"
- All seam allowances are 1/4" unless otherwise noted.
- * = Adhere fusible adhesive to back of fabric before die-cutting the shapes.
- ** = Place fabric right sides facing to cut.
Assembling the Project:
- Arrange and iron all appliqué on the camper body and outer band. Topstitch around all raw edges.
- Pin the front side to the outer band. To do this, align the bottom appliqué on each side of the side with the bottom appliqué on the outer band. When pinning, the right sides of the fabric should face each other.
- Continue pinning the outer band around the outer edge of the front side. It's easier to pin a little on one side and then the other side to keep the outer band evenly spaced along the side. Once the pins are in place, sew along this edge using a 1/4" seam allowance.
- Pin the back side to the remaining side of the outer band, as done in steps 2 and 3.
- There should be four raw fabric edges at the bottom of the pincushion. These four edges will align with the bottom piece of the pincushion. Pin the bottom to these four edges, aligning the two short sides and the two longer sides. Sew around three of the sides, leaving one of the long sides open for turning.
- Clip all of the curved edges every 1/4", taking care not to cut the sewn thread. Fill the pincushion with polyester fiberfill, and hand stitch the opening closed.
- (Optional: Hand stitch one wing to each side of the camper.)
