- Cut a 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" piece of kraft cardstock. Fold in half to create a card base. While the card is closed, use a corner round to round all four corners of the card base.
- Cut a 4" x 5 1/2" piece of medium brown cardstock. Use the corner rounder to round each corner. To add dimension, use a foam sponge to add brown ink to the edges. Center and adhere the medium brown cardstock on top of the kraft card base with double-sided tape.
- Cut a 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of patterned paper from the Sweet Christmas Cardstock Pad. (*The project sample uses the light pink polka-dot patterned paper.) Lightly ink the edges of the patterned paper with an ink that complements the chosen pattern. Center and adhere the patterned paper to the medium brown cardstock with double-sided tape.
- Die-cut the heart from the Card, Candy Cane set out of a different patterned paper from the Sweet Christmas Cardstock Pad. (*The project sample uses the candy cane pattern.) Set aside the heart die-cut. Die-cut an additional heart out of acetate, and set it aside for later use.
- Die-cut out of patterned paper two candy canes from the card base shape of the Card, Candy Cane set. Place the chosen patterned paper from the Sweet Christmas Cardstock Pad directly beneath the candy cane edge of the card base, and die-cut one candy cane. Trim the excess portion on the card base until you have a solo candy cane. Flip over the patterned paper so that when you die-cut the second candy cane, the patterns will match when you adhere them to the card in a later step.
- Die-cut two additional candy canes out of white cardstock using the same card base.
- Use a foam sponge to ink the edges of the two patterned paper candy canes with an ink that complements the chosen pattern. (*The project sample uses the aqua stripe pattern.) Adhere the patterned paper candy canes on top of the white cardstock candy canes with liquid adhesive. Crisscross the candy canes so that they form a heart shape in between. Before adding liquid adhesive to the two spots where the candy canes crisscross, hold up both hearts die-cut in step 4 to make sure they fit exactly behind the heart space created between the candy canes. Add liquid adhesive to the two spots where the candy canes meet once you have achieved the exact spacing for the heart die-cuts.
- On the back side of the candy canes, where the white cardstock is visible, adhere the acetate heart die-cut to the opening between the two candy canes using double-sided tape. Surround the entire edge of the acetate heart with adhesive foam tape, making sure to keep the foam tight so that no sequins or beads will escape from the shaker portion of the card. In the space inside the foam, add a variety of sequins and seed beads. Adhere the other heart die-cut to the back side of the adhesive foam tape to hold in the sequins and beads. Center and adhere the candy cane shaker onto the patterned paper on the card front with double-sided tape.
- Die-cut two large flowers from the Card, Candy Cane set out of medium pink cardstock. Using the same set, die-cut an additional two large flowers out of dark pink cardstock. With a foam sponge, add pink ink to the edges of all four flowers. Adhere with liquid adhesive the light pink flowers on top of the dark pink flowers, lining them up so that the top petals are opposite the bottom petals.
- From the Card, Candy Cane set, die-cut two sets of small flowers out of light pink cardstock, two sets of flower centers out of white cardstock and two sets of leaves out of medium green cardstock. Adhere with liquid adhesive the light pink flowers to the center of the large medium pink flowers. Adhere with liquid adhesive the white flower centers to the center of the small light pink flowers. Adhere with liquid adhesive the medium green leaves to the back side of the dark pink flowers so that they peek out from behind the petals. Adhere the small, clear rhinestones to the center of each flower stack. On the lower portion, where the candy canes crisscross, adhere one flower stack to each side of the crisscross with hot glue, making sure that the leaves on the bottom face in toward the edge of the card.
- On a piece of white cardstock, stamp the Wishing You a Sweet Christmas phrase from the Sweet Christmas set using a permanent black ink pad. Use colored pencils to color in the two hearts and the word Sweet. Align the corresponding Framelits die over the stamped phrase, and die-cut. For ease of use, we recommend using the Magnetic Platform to hold the Framelits die in place while the image is being cut.
- Cut a long piece of sewing thread in light pink, messily gather it together in a circle and place it below the stamped phrase from the previous step. Pull portions of the thread out from behind the phrase to create texture. Apply adhesive foam dots to the bottom of the phrase, and layer the thread below the adhesive foam dots. Apply hot glue on the portions where the adhesive foam dots are visible, and adhere the die-cut phrase with thread to the lower portion of the candy canes where they crisscross. The phrase should sit evenly between the two flower stacks.
