Crafting Tips For Your New Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folders

Don't worry, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you. Embossing has gone into high-definition this year with Tim Holtz's brand new 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folders.  Dimension and texture are OUT of this world with these new products, and achieving such amazing results has never been easier. Get ready. We're about to share some tips, tricks and techniques with you for adding some boldly unique dimension to your papercrafts today.

Like with any new product, there are always questions that need to be answered to help you achieve the most amazing results! Our new 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folders are super easy to use, but the way you run them through your Sizzix machine and prep your materials are slightly different from your usual routine with our regular Texture Fades Embossing Folders.

  1. Only 1 Cutting Pad is used when embossing with our 3D Embossing Folders. We know, this seems a little crazy, but because these folders are so thick, you only need one Cutting Pad to complete your "Sizzix Sandwich."
  2. Misting your material, especially if it is a heavy weight cardstock, with water on both sides prior to placing the material inside of your embossing folder and running it through your machine will help you achieve MAXIMUM dimension!
  3. Because of the hills and valleys or "highs and lows" of these new embossing folders, we suggest running your Sizzix Sandwich through your machine a total of 3 times, for those rich, bold textures. (A quick way to remember this: the 3 in 3D is the number of times you should run your embossing folder through your Sizzix machine.)
  4. You will experience "Creative Cardio" if you use your 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folders with your Sizzix Big Shot machine. (This is not really a tip... more of a friendly observation we thought we should share with you.)
