Q&A with Stacey Park
How would you describe your aesthetic and how did you develop your style?
My style has changed over the years but what has stayed constant is that my aesthetic leans towards a classic, timeless look and feel. I love having products that stand the test of time and that are looked at as a staple for a maker.
When did you discover your passion for all things craft?
It really happened when I became a mom. I wanted to pass on the joy that I shared with my mother both through time spent with my children and the memories made when looking back at a make we did together. I still have small trinkets that I made with my mom and as you can imagine, they are priceless to me.
Who/What are your inspirations and how do they inform the product collections you've created for Sizzix?
I am formally trained in the Fine Jewelry business where timeless and classic are words that translate to longevity. I draw from this training and the understanding of design when thinking about the Sizzix maker.
What's your favorite crafting technique?
That is like asking me which of my two children is my favorite! It can't be done. If I am creating, I am happy! <3
What advice would you give beginner crafters who are just starting to discover paper crafts?
Imperfect IS the new perfect. I would tell them that you are creating from the heart and that is what is seen by others in their makes. Give yourself permission to try and grow and learn and have fun, then share it with others.
