Ready, Set, Bake with Sizzix Designer Olivia Rose!

Hello everyone! I'm Olivia Rose, one of the Sizzix Product Designers! Today I'm excited to share some insight into my Sizzix Build-a-Cake Thinlits Die Set in the Chapter 2 collection!

What could be more synonymous with celebrations than cake?!

Recently, I realized how many special cakes I’d taken pictures of to remember a wonderful party or a significant milestone. I designed this Thinlits Die Set to capture that same unique joy in a dynamic way!

The advantage to making a cake is that you can customize it to suit your taste – literally! With that in mind, I wanted to design a Thinlits Metal Cutting Set which could be truly mix-and-match. There's icing, sprinkles, tiers and cake stands for all occasions!

What I love most about this Sizzix set is the use of ‘wonky’ cakes, to create that toppling effect you see in cartoons, adding movement and playfulness to your makes.

I have also added lots of detail with embossing and cut shapes, to ensure that every layer of your confectionary creation is decorative. ‘More is more’ in this scenario!

So, if the thought of actually baking a multi-tiered cake is daunting, have fun with this Die Set! You can celebrate any occasion with the cheerful colors of Sizzix Cardstock or Sizzix Glitter if you’re in the party spirit, and no preheating the oven!
