Space-Craft with Olivia Rose!

Hi, I’m Olivia Rose, one of the designers for Sizzix, and today we’re going intergalactic with my Space Rocket Die (666030)!

This Bigz Die is perfect for taking your soft crafts and party décor out of this world! Using steel rule technology, it can cut a huge variety of materials, from fabrics and foam to craft aluminium!

I wanted to design a truly classic rocket, which could be used in any number of ways. My main inspiration was seeing space-themed bunting at a wedding and I started imagining what else you could do!

I especially loved the idea of including photos and mementos as I'm very sentimental! So I designed the circle aperture to perfectly fit the Sizzix Dimensional Domes (663559), to act as a window. For some stellar sparkle, you could include the stars from Sizzix Sequins and Beads!

The joy of a simple shape is being able to customise it to your heart’s content. The Sizzix Silver Opulent Cardstock (664533) in the image above, really highlights the metallic details. However, reimagined in Bold Felt (663008) on a cushion, the effect would be totally different, but just as fun!

As you can see, I had a great time thinking up creative ways of using this design with our Sizzix Die-cutting machine!

The planet and star elements included on the Bigz die also add to the versatility. I imagined them in Sizzix Shrink Plastic (663052) as earrings, or adorning a baby mobile!
